Dadong Arts Center

The Dadong Arts Center featuring a unique signature is located at the Fengshan District, Kaohsiung; it's a multi-functional cultural park area. The shape for the building is inspired by taking natural elements as the axis in its design, which consists of flowing wind, shadow and light, rainwater, etc. to create the beauty of eastern zen. The interior of the building is versatile equipped, including a multi-functional auditorium, a visual exhibition hall, and Taiwan's first art library, etc.

By MRT: Take Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line. Get off at Exit 2 of O13 Dadong Station, and the Dadong Arts Center is in front of you.
By Bus: At the Fengshan Bus Station (Exit 1 of MRT O13 Dadong Station),
take Kaohsiung City Bus Orange Line No.8, Kaohsiung City Bus Orange Line No.10, Dashu Shuttle Bus, Jianguo Express Route, Kaohsiung City Bus Orange Line No.9, Kaohsiung Bus 8005, EDA Bus 8504, Fengshan Holiday Cultural Bus.
By Car: Take the National Highway No.1 southward. Get off at Kaohsiung Interchange and merge onto Jianguo 1st Road/Provincial Highway No.1E. Go straight along the road. After passing Fenglin Road, you can reach Dadong Arts Center.
Take the National Highway No.3 northward. Get off at Zhutian Interchange (Provincial Highway No.88) and merge onto the Provincial Highway No.88/ Kaohsiung-Chaozhou section. Get off at Daliao Interchange. Turn right to Fenglin 2nd Road/ Provincial Highway No.25. Turn right to Guangyuang East Road and Guangyuan Road to reach Dadong Arts Center.

Due to the old equipment installed in the existing Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, which sits at Fengshan area, the previous Kaohsiung County government has completed a versatile assessment that was based on continuous promotion of cultural industry in Fengshan, the "Dadong Arts Center" has been planned and built at Dadong Elementary School as base, which is next to Fengshan River, Banyan Park, and MRT station. The construction of the center started on December 5th, 2008, and it was opened to the public in March 2012. The overall design emphasizes natural elements; the building features the combination of semi-open space and the ecology of the surrounding region that creates the beauty of eastern zen.The characteristic shape of the building is paired with the change of light and shadow, it has drawn people's attention and won their admiration.
The Dadong Arts Center is set to be a multi-functional cultural park area, including a versatile multi-functional auditorium, a visual exhibition that provides a space for cultural creativity, and Taiwan's first art library. The auditorium, which has a capacity of 880 seats, features the multiple functions as a space for drama performances, conferences, and music performances. There are other facilities, including a dance rehearsal room, Fengshan historical classroom, etc. complete and comprehensive.
