Taoyuan District Indigenous Museum
The Taoyuan District Indigenous Museum was founded on January 1, 2008. It is 94 km away from the southern section of Central Mountain Range and Southern Cross-Island Highway. It’s surrounded by mountains and it has a great landscape. The Taoyuan District Indigenous Museum has three floors. The first floor has an office, a handicraft display area, a briefing room and a small gallery. The second floor has a meeting room and a handicraft classroom. The third floor has a large gallery. There’s a large outdoor performance venue for all kinds of festivals.

Bunun and Southern Tsou tribes are the primary ones resided in Taoyuan District. A few members of Paiwan and Rukai tribes also reside here. The relics collected in the Taoyuan District Indigenous Museums are mainly from Bunun and Southern Tsou. The Museum expects to display the relics to help tribe members understand the historical and cultural change and fulfill the cultural indicator of sustainable heritage.
