景點介紹
Qingshuiyan is known for the scenic area consisting of Qingshui Temple, an old temple and the peculiar coral reef stones all over this area. In this place, underground spring water often keeps gushing out, That’s how Qingshuiyan got a part of its name Qingshui, which means clean water in Chinese. This area contains numerous natural sites, such as Curling Dragon Cave, Stone Boat and Stone Taiwan. Lots of greeneries and a small bright red bridge have formed a unique landscape. Signs are available for all peculiar sites, including Frog Playing with Tiger, Fishing Jiangtaigong and Three-legged Toad.
The Qingshui Temple was built in the fifth year during the reign of Qing Kang Xi and over 300 years ago. It primarily worships Gautama Buddha and Guanyin and it is a major location for Buddhist worship in southern Taiwan. When visitors walk on the county road on the side of Qingshui Temple and go further, they will enter the Qingshuiyan Heron Conservation Area. Coral reef stones are scattered all over the area. The foothill and trees form a cool shade. A flock of egrets perch here in rthe fall and winter. Don’t forget to bring a telescope with you for birdwatching when you visit here in fall and winter!
