Pu-lao Hot Springs Resort

There was a tributary creek to the Laonong River; due to its year-round hot spring from the ground, it has been named the "Hot River" by the villagers, who take a bath here at all ages. It's said the water has a magical effect on skin disorders.

It was about 40 years ago, after the president of the resort, Mr. Chen Lian-jian found the inconvenience on the way to the resource of the hot spring, he used the double-insulation tubes in the length of 4 kilometers to introduce the mountain spring water to the resort. At first, there were only few very simple bathrooms for villagers and mountaineers to take a shower or bath. It's a carbonated hot spring, colorless, odorless, suitable for bathing, and drinkable; the temperature of the water is at 48 degrees Celsius all year round. Bathing in the hot spring can rejuvenate the skin, so the river was renamed as "Pu-Lao River." (pu-lao means being youthful forever.)

Until 1975, due to the increasing number of visitors, the owner built several wooden rooms for visitors to stay the night. The hotel named "Pu-Lao" has become the first hot spring resort in Kaohsiung. Also, it's the first hotel obtaining Hot Spring Label issued by Kaohsiung City. After several renovations, the hotel welcomes guests with brand-new facilities to provide good service. Visitors are cordially invited to spend a good time here.
