20 years ago, Mr. Lin Yi-long, who used to work for early childhood education, started the business because of an incident that the ceramic supplier couldn't cooperate with the firing process. At that time, the kindergarten would start within several days; if the pottery class was suspended, there would be big trouble. To keep his words, he determined to do the firing independently even though he didn't have any idea about the firing techniques. He was inspired to explore the field of ceramic art. Mr. Lin has upheld his strong determination and put full strength to carry on and promote the heritage of ceramic art.
Mr. Lin has led a team to start studying and doing experiments of each firing process, from earth selection to mixing the natural ore powder for creating the glaze colors. All artworks were created with his unique invention of "multi-layered refined clay" and by following traditional handcrafting procedures, the exclusively refined natural ore powder was mixed in the creation of a hundred kinds of glaze colors. The firing process lasts 6 days at 1,250 degrees Celsius for finishing the artworks with natural non-toxic materials, glossy and beautiful colors, smooth and mild jade-like texture. It's an outstanding technique that creates amazingly lovely colors for the island of Formosa.
