Star Place

Star Place is a department store in Kaohsiung City that specializes in luxury goods, and it is a sister branchof Talee’s Department Storethat is a subsidiary of the President Group. One can enter the 4th and 5th floors of Talee’s Department Store from the sky bridge at the 3rd and 4th floors. Opened for business in November 2008. The whole complex was planned out by the Dutch design company UN Studio with the designing theme of “swirling.” The building displays a streamlined design of an ocean bay and is equipped with a spiral escalator, creating an extravagant ambiance with a minimalistic yet modern interior space designing style. Glass curtain wall that is constructed with thin horizontal plates and vertical stabilizers. At night, adding the LED light effects would show varying displays at different distances and angles. One can also have a bird’s eye view of Urban Spotlight and the Central Park from inside the building.

Talee’s Department Store situated on Wufu Road was a memory shared by people of Kaohsiung, and the newly established Star Place was rebuilt by the President Group at the original location of Talee’s. The Exterior of the Star Place is presented in an elegant streamlined design resembling an ocean bay, echoing the local scenery of Kaohsiung. Pieces of images on the glass curtain wall form the illustration of an eternal star, which would shine at night with its magnificent light show lit up by colorful LED lights, bringing in new prosperous shopping ambiance for Kaohsiung City once again.
