Xinwei Forest Park

This park is located at the plateau on the west bank of the Laonong River and it is also on the border of the Xinwei Village and Xinliao Village. The altitude is 200 m. Visitors can overlook the great view of the Central Ridge and Laonong River. The park is 290,970 m2 and it used to be one of the largest nurseries in Taiwan, focusing on tropical nursery stocks. Over 200 types of seedlings are raised here and the main ones are mahogany, bamboo and Chinese fir. This place was a part of the former bed of the Laonong River. It was built into a nursery because of great soil. It is called “pingding” by the residents. This park has lots of trees and it is filled with greenery in spring and summer. A 2-km mahogany path is available in the park and surrounded with trees. The green leaves of mahogany turn red-yellow when the season changes from winter to spring. The path is filled with fallen leaves, creating a poetic view. Rows of trees form a natural corridor. Lots of couples are attracted by this exotic landscape and visit here for a walk. This park is a popular location for wedding photoshoot.
